A saree (sari) is a garment consisting of a length of cotton or silk elaborately draped around the body, traditionally worn by women from South Asia.
Why I Began Saree Draping
Living in a foreign country, keeping the culture and tradition of our homeland became extremely important to me. My family and I celebrate many Hindu holidays, and something we all enjoy is getting dressed up. My main goal is to help people enjoy this cultural experience of wearing a saree, whether or not it is part of where they are from. Recently, a cultural revival has swept through the media. As much of Bollywood is celebrating their roots by wearing sarees, I wanted to bring this surge of culture to America. I truly enjoy draping sarees on myself and others, and I hope that I can bring this joy to you!
